IDEG Data Information Request

Development Requests:

Requests for development of datasets, data models, reports and dashboards are reviewed monthly by the IDEG Steering Committee. Steering Committee decisions are based on pre-evaluation criteria and analysis performed by the IDEG's Functional and Technical Subcommittees to:

  • Determine the value the development will provide to the NDUS
  • Identify potential security constraints and risks of connecting to a particular data source
  • Review policies or laws that may impact the decision to approve the request
  • Estimate necessary resources, including time and subject matter experts, to complete the development

NOTES:

  • If the request was prompted by a state or federal mandate or is considered urgent, please attach supporting documentation indicating the mandate or urgency.
  • Prior to requesting a new development, please review the descriptions of existing NDUS datasets and data models found in the NDUS Data Catalog to determine if the necessary data needed is already accessible through Power BI.

Development Request Instructions:
Submit a development request to the IDEG by clicking the Request Service button on this page and select Development from the Category drop down list. Complete the remaining fields as required.

Access an Existing Data Model:

Anyone can request access to an existing data model; however, users granted access to a data model or data set will only see the data the user currently has access to in the data's source system. If unable to view data in the data model or dataset, follow your campus protocol for requesting access to specific data sources. Access requests for Campus Connection, FIN, and HCM can be made through your Campus Access Control Officer (CACO).

NOTES:
Prior to completing the access request, refer to the NDUS Data Catalog to gather the following required information for the form:

  • Data Model Name
  • Workspace where the data model resides

Access Request Instructions:
Submit an access request to the IDEG by clicking the Request Service button on this page and select Access Existing Data Model from the Category drop down list. Complete the remaining fields as required.

General Comments or Questions:

There are a number of resources available to find answers to most Power BI questions, including the Power BI Support site and the NDUS Data Analytics User Group.

Performance Issues - If you are experiencing a performance issue, check out the status of the Power BI component of Office 365 on the CTS Portal page to see if an issue has been reported and under investigation. If no issue has been reported, please complete the Report an Incident ticket form instead.

General Comments/Questions Request Instructions:
If the above resources aren't able to resolve your question, you can submit an inquiry to the IDEG by clicking the Request Service button on this page, and selecting General Comments or Questions in the Category drop down list. Complete the remaining fields as required.
